Why
SGARs cause cruel and horrific suffering and don’t seem to be working in Maynard or Eastern MA
More than 481,500 pounds of SGARs were used in MA in 2023. (Change.org)
Maynard Schools are on course to outspend their total 2024 pest control by almost 4 times in FY25! (town accounting records)
There are 113 boxes of bromadiolone at our schools! 12 boxes of SGARs at Town Hall/Police Station. (the schools may have taken steps as of 4/8 to replace the bromadiolone with diphacinone (an fgar with secondary effects and cholecalciferol (d3). If this is true, it's a step in the right direction for wildlife, though the sgar bromadiolone is still listed as being used. Only the ipm written records at the school offices should show exactly what is out there at any given time. Feel free to ask to see them, they are public record.) Kudos to the schools if indeed they did stop sgars and start fgars and d3.
Our rat problem seems to be getting worse. Have you heard of increasing rat/mouse issues in Maynard?
